We are moving this weekend and if you haven't moved lately, let me remind you - don't. Just don't. The grass might look greener, but is slightly brighter grass worth the hours and hours of packing, back-breaking box-lifting and complete mid-life chaos? Simply pick up a pair of green-tinted glasses at Claire's (it's St. Patrick's Day on Monday so the timing couldn't be better) and promptly ban MLS from your web browser. It's too late for me - you still have time to save yourself.

There is, however, a silver lining to this stormcloud of moving chaos; it's called inventory. After going through boxes, sifting through receipts and tearing apart my closet, I have confirmed the suspicions that my husband has had all along. I am, in fact, a shoe hoarder. Case in point:

You don't have to be a graphologist to see the frustration in my husband's handwriting on the moving boxes above. I believe the word 'sentimental' is actually in the shape of a furrowed eyebrow. I mean, sentimental shoes? Really? I do have all kinds of compelling justifications for that box - my kids' first baby shoes, my dad's old shoes, my first pair of pointe shoes, the heels I wore when my husband and I got married etc. etc. but of course, this is just one box of many including summer shoes, winter shoes, and 'vintage' shoes that I'm sure my daughter will love to wear one day. Oh, and then there are the boots - ski boots, winter boots, rain boots etc. etc. etc.

It goes without saying that I am seriously smitten with shoes. But because we're moving, I have actually managed to give away a fair number of out-of-date, worn out kicks to (naturally) make way for some of spring's most covetable sandals, heels and ankle boots. And let me tell you, there are plenty to covet this spring.

Because it's always nice to buy anything for under $100 these days, I've focused this guide on all under-$100 shoes, perfect for wearing the very minute the snow melts...

SJP's Shoe Line Launches at Nordstrom Today

Photo via Nordstrom

You knew this, right? Sarah Jessica Parker's brand new shoe line launches exclusively at Nordstrom today, finally giving all of us lowly non-New Yorkers a chance to score Carrie's sick shoe closet. The Sex and the City star is well-known, both on-screen and off, for her insanely gorge footwear that runs the gamut from classic to impractically perfect.

Available at Nordstrom and nordstrom.com, from Feb. 28 to March 2, the collection includes perfect T-strap pumps, pastel peep-toes, beach-ready espadrilles and even a few handbags. My personal favs? The Carrie T-Strap Pump, the Pola Pointy-Toe Pump, the Bobbie Sandal and the Wallace Sandal.

And what about the starlet herself? According to SJP in an interview with New York Post, “I covet all of them in some way because they allow you to feel differently, or make something look different in your closet, or stand differently than you did yesterday, or get someplace faster,” she says. “I think that’s the beauty of this particular accessory.”

Priced between $195-$495, it's not a decision to be taken lightly. And yet, as they say, far cheaper than therapy?

Happy last day of February! (woot, woot!)

You never have to convince me to buy new shoes. While I consider myself to be pretty responsible in most areas of my life, my self-control around strappy sandals, beautiful boots and pointy-toe pumps is nil. No really, the effort it takes me to walk past a shoe store without going inside is enough to make me feel like I've run 5K. And when I hear of a shoe sale, I self-impose a restraining order so I won't allow myself to come within 100 metres of the place. The fashion police are waiting. And by fashion police, I mean my husband.

I guess it could be worse. I mean, of all the addictions a person could have, shoes are pretty harmless. They're pink, and have bows and pretty little heels. I mean seriously, how dangerous can they really be?

Love shoes, too? Read up on spring's top footwear trends (already starting to file into stores - yay!) to get a lovely jump on the new season. Happy shopping! Sigh...isn't it always?
