See the Joe Fresh x FLARE Collection

Photos by Nino Muñoz/Courtesy of FLARE.

I haven't posted about a collab in awhile but just had to share this latest Canadian team-up with you. The fashion editors of FLARE have partnered up with Joe Fresh for a Fall '15 capsule collection and I'm loving the results. The exclusive line embodies the season’s most essential style notes to bring your wardrobe right up-to-date for the season. And since it's Joe Fresh - you guessed it - the prices are irresistible.

The Joe Fresh x FLARE collection includes a pleated Lurex skirt, a classic tweed coat, 70’s-tinged flare jeans, a multi-checked print dress, a cozy funnel neck sweater and an extra-long, chunky cardigan. Everything in the lineup is priced from $29 to $99 (CAD) so I certainly plan on picking up a piece, or two, or three.

“Why are we so excited about our collaboration with Joe Fresh? Because we sincerely believe that each item in the six-piece line, from the tweed car coat and shimmery pleated skirt to the high-waisted flared jeans and cable-knit cardi, is an instant wardrobe upgrader. Oh, and the fact that you can have everything [in the entire collection] for less than $300? It’s a fall fashion miracle,” write the editors of FLARE in their September issue.

The Joe Fresh x FLARE collection will be available September 10 in stores and online and the FLARE September issue is on newsstands now, featuring Karlie Kloss killing it in Joe Fresh on the cover. Think she'll be able to get Taylor Swift to wear Joe Fresh for fall? I can totes picture Taylor in that funnel sweater, can't you?

Thanks for bearing with me over the last little bit while I've indulged in some summer slacking. All this fall fashion is the best motivation, though, so expect the posts to pick up in the next little while. Love you!

VALENTINE'S 2015 | Day-to-Night Date Looks

via ELLE

Originally posted in The CLOSET

I have a little problem with you, Valentine's Day. It's not that I don't appreciate what you're trying to do here. I get that you just want us to love and eat candy. I like love and I also like candy. I totally get what you're selling. It's just that I don't like being forced into a heart-shaped box where romance starts after 7pm.

My favourite idea of love is the all day kind. The kind that starts early in the morning when my husband makes me a cappuccino with a heart-like pattern in the foam. He claims it's something much more inappropriate, but I'm a romantic so I like to believe it's a heart. Love shows itself throughout the day when my 4 year-old son gives me a Lego spaceship he built with a little Lego 'mommy' in the back toting a giant spacegun and a little Lego 'him' in the front wearing a bikini from my daughter's Lego Friends beach set. It doesn't make any sense but love rarely does. So I give him a kiss and tell him I love it, because I do. The rest of the day will be filled with signs that I'm loved - squeaky toys dropped at my feet by our ever-loyal Westie, random emails from my mom and sister, texts from my best friend and an exhausted kiss goodnight and subsequent zzzzz from my husband after hours of trying to get our kids to bed. Love, it turns out, has more layers than any long-stemmed rose.

Whether you're single, attached or somewhere in between, let this Valentine's be a day to celebrate all the love in your life. And if you happen to be annoyed by everyone in your life at the moment, at the very least you can always love clothes. I've put together 3 adorable outfits that will take you oh-so-sweetly from breakfast to dinner this Valentine's Day. I'm not suggesting that you wear all 3 outfits, but you know that I wouldn't discourage it either. They say that above all, you should love yourself first, right?

Black + Camel + Gold

Pom Pom Toque, Joe Fresh | Mirrored Sunnies, similar American Eagle | Sweater w Gold Zips, J.Crew | Gorjana Gold Necklace, Shopbop | Camel Coat, Jones New York | Fingerless Gloves, Joe Fresh | Polka-Dot Pants, Joe Fresh | Ankle Boots, GAP.

I love wearing all black but find that unless you change up the textures, it can get really boring, really fast. Which is why I am loving these tone-on-tone polka-dot pants from Joe Fresh. Even if you don't like printed bottoms, the print and the price are palatable. I like to top my black off with a classic camel coat (you need one), and, of course, some cheap, cheerful ski-bunny accessories like these fingerless gloves and pom pom toque, also from Joe Fresh. And while I like certain statement necklaces, the whole massive statement jewel necklace worn over a done-up blouse, worn over a sweater, is all starting to look a little bit been-there-worn-that. My new fav thing? A long gold pendant necklace. I currently own a few beauties - the one pictured is Gorjana from Shopbop, and I also love the Rebel Pendant from Stella & Dot.

As you know, I don't do a lot of outfit posts here (which is why you should follow me on Instagram, svp), because my husband is not the most willing photographer. I don't get what he does with all his time. As if starting a business is more important than taking pictures of my outfits. Honestly....men ;)

Um, is it Friday yet?

HOLIDAY '14 | Your Under-$200 Guide

Originally posted in The Fashion Scoop

Walking through the mall this month is like a really great binge-watch of Netflix. There's drama (MO-OM, you are SO embarassing!), there's intrigue (will she like it? will she loathe it?), and of course, that edge-of-your-seat, nail-biting terror (only 20 days left?!).

It goes without saying that the clock starts ticking more insistently than usual this time of year, leaving even the most organized among us in a panic. But is this all necessary? Can we just take a collective step back and put this in perspective? Can we try for a minute to remember what this is all about in the first place? Um, no. No we can't. Because unless you're a Saint or happen to reside in Whoville, presents are part of the big Christmas/Holiday/Chrismukkah package. Plus, it's fun to buy things for other people. As long as we're prepared.

I've found 50 stellar gifts to please the picky, to wow the un-wowable, each for under-$200 so you can keep on budget while you're at it. Scroll through the slideshow below for my top gift picks and dial your panic button down a notch. Remember, it's your presents...er..I mean presence that counts...
