My chocolate addiction finally caught up with me and I found myself in the chair of doom at the dentist this morning.  As I tried to block out the horrible sounds going on around me, I let my mind drift to a much happier place;  the whirring drill was replaced by the sound of waves lapping against a shoreline and the spotlight overhead became the warm summer sun.  I imagined a world where eating ice cream and hamburgers had no consequences, where bathing suit shopping was a treat, not a chore, and where I could shop every single day of my life.  And what would I buy?  How about bright beach bags, gauzy white shirts (the perfect cover-up), cool statement cuffs, fun nautical pieces and retro-inspired bathing gear.  I made a little pact with myself that if I ever got out of the chair alive, I would seriously limit my chocolate intake.  But what else could possibly satiate my sweet tooth?  How about sweet fashion finds?  I could totally be down with that.  Imagine all the money I'll save...

The Golden Globes

If I'm going to wear something on my wrist, I make sure it makes a statement.  Metal bangles drive me a little bananas with their constant clinking and wooden versions can easily get too clunky.  This Mango bracelet's cluster of shiny golden balls is comfortable to wear and feminine without being too dainty.  Perfection!

Obsession: The Long Black Dress

Black maxi dresses from Zara ($19.99), H&M ($59.95) and Anthropologie ($148)

It's official:  I'm completely and desperately obsessed with LBDs - Long Black Dresses, that is.  I'd wear mine for day with a great little distressed belt and strappy metallic gladiator flats and for evening with a  gold pendant necklace or with chunky silver cuffs on both wrists.  And, for those of you who've reached your summer shopping limit, consider this a perfect pre-fall purchase since you can easily rock this dress with ankle boots and a little bomber jacket once the weather turns.  How's that for long dress longevity?  Hope you all had a fab long weekend.  Is it just me or is anyone else already looking forward to the next one?

Topshop Hits the Bay Today

Eager shoppers lined up for hours to get into Topshop's first Canadian pop-up shop in Toronto

My new best friends from Topshop served up the BEST fro-yo I have ever had - vanilla drizzled with honey and topped with butterscotch and toffee-cornflake topping.  Seriously.

Jumpsuits are tricky but she pulled this one off fabulously.  Lurv everything.

The DJ was totally posing, even though I told him not to.

Don't forget - Topshop's capsule in The Bay on Queen St. in Toronto opens today!  The collection, curated by 'it'-boy Tommy Ton, will be available throughout the summer at The Bay (all the deets here) but I would highly suggest sprinting up to the 3rd floor immediately to get the best selection.  I went to the first pop-up shop a few weeks ago (click through for pics from the event below) and picked up a brilliant cobalt blue maxi-dress ($100) for me and a pair of chambray espadrille shoes ($35ish) for James.  Is it worth braving the crowds?  If you love fashion like me, then it's totally worth an afternoon to score some super-trendy, not-super-expensive pieces.  I cannot wait for the official store opening at Yorkdale this September!

But first, happy Canada Day my lovelies.  May your drinks be cold, your food be yummy, your company fun and your fireworks extra sparkly.

xo

St. Tropez Style for a Steal

Shhh...I won't tell if you don't!  Okay, so maybe you're not planning any visits to Rondini or K.Jacques in St. Tropez this summer but these insanely gorge sandals from ALDO will make you look like you've had a lovely little trip to the Cote d'Azur.  Like the sandals worn by Brigitte Bardot and co., they're simple, flattering and fabulous and with their mixed-metal make-up, will go with literally everything you wear all summer long.  The Cassa sandal ($30) also comes in white and black patent and is available now at ALDO stores nationwide or online here.
