Oh, Alber Elbaz. I adored your Fall '13 necklaces for Lanvin - so playful, so kitschy, so fun. But I bet you're totally hating on this Zara knock-off right now. They one-upped you with the stars and of-the-moment pearls, and instead of 'Love' and 'Happy', left a much more coy 'Maybe'. As for me, I'm not so undecided - this rockstar necklace is a definite Y-E-S in my books.

I realize it'll be out of style in a season or two but here's one massively important silver lining to consider: someday, many years from now, your daughter/niece/neighbour's kid will have the best costume EVER. Consider it part of your legacy...

Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot

Can't breathe. Can't move. Gasp. Wattteeerrr. I want it. In a glass would be great, but preferably in a 12' x 24' basin set to ohhh, I don't know, about 83 degrees. Now that would be perfect. Forget called-off soccer games. Shouldn't everything be ceremoniously cancelled in this heatwave? If I were mayor, I'd do it - I'd interrupt every channel for an emergency announcement and declare that it's officially far too hot to do anything at all. I'd command every man, woman and child to proceed immediately to the nearest pool deck.  Shut down the markets, call in the ice cream trucks and send in frosty beer glass reinforcements. This is a state of emergency, y'all! Throw on your cute bikinis, grab a cocktail and save yourselves!

Just wrapped up my TV segment for CHCH Morning Live (click here if you missed it) with iVillage.ca and while I would gladly stay in the glamorous world of TV, it's time to get back to serious business. If you consider online shopping 'serious business'. Which I do, luckily. In the interest of time and a wall of looming deadlines, wanted to share three things that have recently struck my fancy. I'm really loving the combo of blue and neon yellow right now - so pretty, right?

I've often wondered if there's one shining answer to every fashion dilemma and I'm happy to report that I've found it. What do you wear when you've hit the snooze button one too many times? You guessed it - Black and White. The non-colour combo is sometimes overlooked for being 'basic' or 'obvious', but here's the thing about this classic trend - not only does it solve nearly any what-to-wear dilemma but designers have been obsessed with the pairing lately, sending black & white looks down the runways of NY, Milan and Paris all season long. Given what It girls like Rihanna and K. Stew are rocking this week at the Paris Fall '13 Couture shows, looks like B&W is here to stay...
