RLR & JACOB Present CYBER SPRING

I'm currently in the midst of a full-fledged wardrobe overhaul - hell-bent on purging anything and everything that I don't love and slowly adding in some new recruits. As I whittle down the pack of needs vs. wants, JACOB asked me to check out their new Summer Collection and I have to say, I'm super tempted by what I see. 

The refreshing hues and all the lovely prints and textures are like a little trip to Morocco, minus the plane ride. I love the sharp contrast of black and white but sometimes, you need a little somethin' somethin' lest you start to resemble the waitstaff.  Kidding..kind of...

Love the black lace detail in both of these tops, worn with a sleek pencil skirt or tailored trousers and ready to peek out prettily under your fall topper.  Try it with a nude lip or full-out vampy red.  My one essential suggestion?  Be sure to leave the necklace at home and let the lace speak for itself.  Love it.  Want it.

Ohhh Canadaaa

Birthday parties are always fun, but Canada Day brings it to an entirely new level. As we approach our country’s 145th birthday, we prepare to honour our true north, strong and free with barbeques, beer (a local microbrew, of course), and a round of light-up-the-sky fireworks.

Whether you’re heading to our nation’s capital to party with thousands, or are keeping it tight with friends and family in your very own backyard, these finds will help you wear Canada from head to toe. They might not scream red & white loud, but these two looks are a subtle way to show that you’re proud.

Imitating Annabelle Fleur

The Inspiration: Annabelle Fleur of Viva Luxury (is that her real name?) Love how she mixed bright red denim with a breton striped shirt.  Her little touch of leopard looks cute, not cougarific.

The Pose:  Hand on wall (this felt really, really awkward to me...I don't generally lean on walls, unless I've had one of those nights...), legs crossed (makes legs look longer, thinner, apparently), a look of complete boredom (I looked pretty bored last time so thought I'd smile this one out).  Immediately after taking this pic, I was all set to...um, go back inside, change into something I could get dirty and plant flowers with my kids all day.  At least I looked good at breakfast :) 

The Must-Have Spring Item:  The Bright Jean

The Find:  JACOB's Coloured Denim Jeans ($39.90) 

The Verdict:  I've worn them, I've washed them and I love them.  They're stretchy, slim and a great vibrant shade of red, and don't stretch out like so many of the other inexpensive bright jeans I've sampled.  Since they're red, I'll be able to wear them all year long.  Such a score for under $40!
