A Peek at Peter Som for Anthropologie

Photos via Style.com

'Tis the season where wedding invites make their way to our mailboxes and after the RSVP comes the inevitable hunt for the perfect dress.  Black is too funerial and white grounds for bridezilla backlash, and so we're left with colour and print. Enter the new Peter Som capsule collection for Anthropologie, full of punchy bright florals and other whimsical prints, guaranteed to help you stand out at any summer celebration.

“The collection has that off-kilter, patchwork, kind of magpie sensibility. It’s about a quirky elegance,” offers Som. As for the zebra print, already seen in his Spring 2012 collection, Som quips “I’m of the Diana Vreeland school of thought - Zebra is a neutral.”

Available online at anthropologie.com and in stores starting this Friday, the collection ranges from $128 to $360. Thoughts? Any pieces catching your eye? I'm ALL over that zebra dress, recycled print or not. Giddy-up.

Flo Rida

If for no reason other than pure bra and undie boredom, I'm all over these pretty pieces by Hanky Panky.  The flowers pack a major one-two punch and will instantly liven up an underwhelming underwear drawer.  Happily hide them under your little summer dresses or, if you're feeling a little scandalous, let the straps play peek-a-boo under your louchey summer shirts.  Either way, it'll be hard not to stroll through your summer day with a knowing little smile...

Hanky Panky's Sheer Saturation Set ($36 and $54) is available now at Anthropologie

Just Beachy

Stripe Tunic, $90, J. Crew

cov·er-up (cu-ver-up) An effort or strategy of concealment, especially a planned effort to prevent something potentially scandalous from becoming public.

A great cover-up allows you to lounge poolside or grab après-beach cocktails in style without exposing all of your naughty bits. Leave a little something to the imagination this summer with these 10 under-$100 ‘kini-covers in my weekly style article at iVillage.ca.  Now, where's the beach?!

Shoe La La

It's taken everything in me to not buy shoes today, especially since I just finished my round-up of Spring's 10 Best Splurge vs. Save Shoes for iVillage.ca.  Question:  Think these are the splurge or save versions?  Hmmm...

Happy Friday, my pretties!  xo

Found: A-zure Thing

As soon as I saw this dress, I knew it had to be mine.  It's the type of dress that makes you feel refreshed, makes you feel pretty, makes you feel like a lady, even though you might not always act like one.  I'd ditch the belt, and mix it up with everything from a cream cincher to my husband's distressed leather belt (or this men's braided leather, infinitely adjustable belt ($24.50) from Old Navy) and strappy flat sandals or espadrille wedges.  Wear it with skinny white jeans in the spring, bare-legged on steamy days or as an elevated take on the cover-up whilst poolside.  Paint your toes bright red, pour yourself a glass of wine and prepare to look positively OTT amazing.  Resistance, I'm afraid, is futile.  Happy Friday, lovelies!

The Ikat Frequencies Shirtdress ($98) is available now at Anthropologie
