Why spend the season with chattering teeth and freezing feet? Designers have given us loads of tempting reasons to cozy up this fall, from the trend that lets you wear your blanket out, to the warm boot socks you'll never want to take off.

Happy Thanksgiving, lovelies! Personally, I'm grateful for stretchy pants. And you?

CAP IT OFF

Felt Caps, $12 each, Old Navy

Don't know about you but all these early mornings are wreaking serious havoc on my hair. My solution? A cute felt cap, ideal for instantly banishing bedhead when you don't have time to primp. You'll get around to that perfect blow-out one of these days but in the meantime, I say throw a hat on it. I'm particularly loving these felt caps from Old Navy. Only $12 each. A must, right?

SHOE LOVE: InStyle x Nine West Fall Collection

Photo via Nine West

A storm hit our new house last night, both literally and figuratively, so I couldn't make it into Toronto for the InStyle for Nine West fall launch party. Won't bore you with the dets. But did a storm ever stop me from shoe shopping? Nein. Niet. I spent the evening perusing the brand new collection, its largest offering yet of editor-designed shoes, handbags and jewellery.

The fall collection comprises 6 brand new shoe styles in calf hair, suede and leather in a sophisticated palette of navy, cabernet, leopard and camo, ranging from $100 - $175. I'm currently torn between the leopard ankle-strap pointy-toe and the strappy black suede stiletto. Thinking stiletto...yes, stilettooohhhh.

The small but mighty jewellery and handbag collection includes a convertible clutch and satchel featuring leopard and gold accents and silver and gold knot bangles and collars ranging from $50 - $295.

The InStyle for Nine West capsule collection just arrived in Nine West stores and online with free shipping at ninewest.ca. It's back to school season. Think you deserve a little something...

PITTER, PATTER: 50 Valentine's Gifts They'll Love

Pucker up, buttercups. Photo courtesy H&M

Originally posted in The CLOSET

Valentine's Day can bring out the best and worst in us all. The idea of someone standing outside your window John Cusack-style might make your knees buckle. For me, I'd be like, 'Dude, it's -30 out there. And seriously, it's 2014 - where did you find a boombox?' Same goes for rose petals (cheesy), chocolate-covered strawberries (kind of overrated - chocolate covered bananas are so much better), and anyone who plays the saxophone. Not that there's anything wrong with that. It's just..again, it's 2014 - where did you find a saxophone?

Yet sometimes, I am a surprising sucker for romance. Impromptu slow dances by the fire, Nicholas Sparks movies (I KNOW! I Can't. Help. It.), little love notes, pink peonies, or a bottle of champagne? I become so predictably starry-eyed that you might as well stick a long-stemmed rose between my teeth, sit me under a chocolate fountain, and put The Bachelor on repeat and I probably wouldn't even notice.

There's a very fine line between heart flutters and eye rolls but when it comes to romance, effort is everything. Whether you're the trunkloads of flowers type, or prefer to keep your gestures subtle and sweet, I've rounded up 50 pretty gifts to help make her (or his) heart go pitter patter this Valentine's Day. Don't even try to figure it out - love makes zero sense. Sigh...isn't it just the best?

The Girl From Hipanema

Hipanema Bracelets, approx. $90-$115 each plus shipping

Pardon for the late Friday post but let's just say it's been one of THOSE days. First, I lost my wallet. Next, I lost my iPhone. Then, I lost my mind. Luckily, I found the wallet and the phone (phew) AND I just discovered these wicked Rio-on-your-wrist bracelets from up-and-coming French brand Hipanema. The brand of bracelets, swimsuits and bags was started by two Parisian girls who met while partying in Rio. Um, j'adore. All's well that ends well, as they say...

Am heading to the Queen's Plate and Hats & Horseshoes Party with Backseat Stylers and some other super-stylish blogettes this Sunday. Are you coming? Will be sure to post all the pics of 'fascinating' ladies and dapper bow-tied boys next week!

Happy, happy weekend! Now, off to see a man about a strong G&T. Can you blame me?
