Zara Canada is now LIVE

So many of you have been asking for details about the Zara Canada online launch that I had to share the latest news. The site officially launches on March 6th but you can start shopping the site NOW at zara.com/hicanada (click where it says 'Bienvenue' and don't let the March 6 thing throw you off)  Confusing, I know, but let's just go with it since it means we can shop even earlier than we'd planned.  The site carries the same full range of women's, men's, and children's clothes carried in Zara stores and delivers to the entire country - so whether you live in Wawa, ON, Spread Eagle Nfld., or St. Louis du Ha! Ha!, QC, you can now access the affordable fashion fantasy that is Zara. Finally!

Shipping and returns are free for orders over $50 or $9.95 for express shipping (2-3 business days), or you can opt to pick up your items in store. Do you know how amazing this is? So, instead of having to troll the mall and hope you score the cute stuff right when it arrives, you can now troll online.  This is how addictions start. The return and exchange policy will be the same as that in Zara stores and customers can choose to have items picked up at their home or return them at any Zara store.  Anyone else as excited as I am? Anyone else see some major credit card damage in their future? Sigh...

Sorry for the paltry postage this week.  Let me just say that if you ever consider selling your house, don't. Just don't.  At least my house is clean for the weekend...AND rlr mini is coming to visit with her beyond adorbs family.  Can't wait! Happy, happy weekend everyone! X

P.S- I just bought these. :) :) :)

It's Official: Zara Canada Online

How do you make a Friday go from good to great?  How 'bout news of Zara's online shop, finally (finally!) coming to Canada.  If you live in Toronto, this might be exciting enough.  But imagine living in a world where there is literally no real shopping nearby, where a trip to Zara is a 2.5 hour (each way, on a good day) endeavour.  Add to that two toddlers in tow who, bless their hearts, just don't have the patience for scouring the racks, waiting in changeroom line-ups and don't understand the meaning of the words 'fierce', 'beyond' or 'must-have.'  Then imagine getting home and realizing something doesn't fit, which entails yet another full-day excursion back to Yorkdale just to arrange the exchange. It's exhausting. (Insert something about #firstworldproblems here)

But no longer.  I reported the rumour last week but what was once a pipedream is now official:  Zara is coming online to Canada March 6th.  Yay, yay, yay. I could not be a happier girl today :) And if you do have little ones, you must check out the Zara Kids Spring '13 Lookbook on rlr mini today.  Now that's what I call hope for our future...

Happy weekend, peeps!

Cara Delevingne for Zara Spring Summer 2013

Cara Delevingne for Zara TRF S/S 2013

On this beyond frigid day, I was looking for something, anything to warm me up.  Thanks to Zara, I'm feeling positively breezy after seeing their new Spring/Summer Campaign starring It Brit, Cara Delevingne.  The model (and Burberry muse) is seen enjoying all those iconic summer moments - cruising with the top down, splashing barefoot in the waves, hitting up the ferris wheel.  I must have that white maxi dress.  And I want to be as cool as Cara Delevingne.

Always-in-the-know Flare editor, Ryan Michael Cheung hinted on Twitter the other day that a Zara Canadian e-comm site is imminent:

I've been pestering Zara's office for deets but everyone's keeping it locked for now.  Will let you know the moment I hear any news.  This would both improve my life drastically and destroy any hopes of staying on budget.  Double-edged sword, but a risk I'm willing to take.

Update: I just got confirmation that a Toronto company is working on the e-comm site and it's launching SOON. Still vague, but a confirmation nonetheless

Shiny Pretty Thing

Printed Sequined Cardigan, $199, Zara

The minute I saw this sparkly cardi, I knew it looked fabulously familiar.  Then I remembered, and only 2 initials came to mind: O.P.  That beacon of better-than-you-bitchiness Olivia Palermo whom, try as I might to resist, can't help but lurv. She's gorgeous, has a hot hot hot German boyfriend and a closet I would kill for. And somehow, she always knows exactly how to expertly pull together an outfit, making everyone else in the room look lacking.  Grrr.

This Zara cardi is perfect year-round but especially essential this season when you can amp up the glitter to keep up with the rest of the holiday sparkle.  Wear it like a blazer over your dresses and tailored separates or go downtown..err...make that uptown...over distressed denim à la O.P.

Can You Handle It?

Love (LOVE!) this top-handled tote from Zara.  It's a hot, colour-blocked mess of neutrals, meaning you can literally wear it with everything, yet the clean, classic lines keep it from looking busy. You can carry it by its smart top handles or go hands-free with the longer shoulder strap, and the zip-top will stop your goods from spilling out, should you decide to swing it wildly over your head with abandon or execute a perfect cartwheel. One never knows when the mood might strike...

The Suede Combined Shopper chimes in under $100 (just barely but still...) at Zara.

And sorry for the inconsistent posting this week.  My little girl started JK (sniff) and my son started pre-school (double-sniff) so I've been knee-deep in lunch boxes, backpacks and Kleenexes all week long.  I had no clue that back-to-school was so much work! Ohh, and SO EXCITING!  I've been asked to be part of Cityline's Fall Fashion Special so I've been shopping like mad to help style the show.  If you want to catch me on it, set your PVR's for Tues, Sept 18th on City TV!  xoxo
