Perfectly Preppy

Dear Todd,

Grab me my tennis racket and cable-knit sweater, and meet me at the club at 10.  I'll be at the bar with my vermouth.  Oh, and after my massage, let's go shopping.  They have high-heeled loafers at Zara that are TO-DIE.  I must, I MUST!

Kiss kiss,

Margo

Off the Cuff

Can you stand it?  These new leather clutches from Roots are my latest obsession.  Every editor worth her wedges was seen carrying a clutch at Paris Fashion Week last month, signalling a move away from the over-the-shoulder bags we've been seeing for several seasons.  These little beauties have everything I look for in a little bag - not too big and not too small (just the size of Montreal), perfect, saturated colour, a practical wrist strap AND a fun, colourful lining when you unzip it.  In fact, I'm so smitten that I might plan a little date night tonight - for me and my new orange clutch, that is.  Don't worry, gorgeous, drinks are on me!

The new Monika clutches ($88) are available now at Roots stores or online here

When it comes to style, simple is quite often better.  I can't count the number of times I've seen a perfectly gorgeous girl drowning in piles of makeup, fake-and-baked to the hilt with jewels dripping all over her body to get attention, only to get completely lost in all of it.  Sure, I love sparkly things, too, but there's a reason the 'everything in moderation' expression exists.  If you're one of those women who just can't help herself when it comes to accessories, make like Coco Chanel and try taking one thing off before you leave the house -  if you've got on a statement necklace, let your lobes take a breather or if you're wearing an amazing cocktail ring, leave the bracelets at home.  Go easy on the icing, cupcakes, and you'll be one step closer to being a style supernova.

This look from Balmain is rocker-chic at its best.  The simple white blazer, black shoes and belt could not possibly be more basic.  Throw a pair of metallic jeans and a pretty white tank into the mix (I've shown a beaded one but plain white works, too) and you've got a look that's undeniably fierce.  And for girls like me who love to shine, this look simply smoulders - no accessories required!

Fashion Targets Breast Cancer

Patti Hansen (with daughters Theodora & Alexandra Richards) models a limited-edition tee

It's always stylish to give back and to celebrate ten years of the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer campaign in Canada, Rethink Breast Cancer and Joe Fresh® are introducing 10 new fashion pieces to raise funds for breast cancer research, education and support.

The face of this year’s campaign is legendary model and two-time cancer survivor, Patti Hansen, who poses with her two daughters Theodora and Alexandra Richards (the girls’ father is Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones). Hansen was so honoured to be part of the campaign that she donated her time to the initiative.

This year's Fashion Targets Breast Cancer collection includes: a limited‐edition white t‐shirt with sequined bulls‐eye ($14), 6 women’s coloured bulls‐eye t‐shirts ($12), 2 t-shirts for men ($12) and a classic black tote bag ($24). All net proceeds from the collection will be donated to Rethink Breast Cancer.

The collection will be available at many Joe Fresh locations across Canada starting this Friday, April 15 and throughout the month of May. Only 1000 limited edition sequined tees will be available at select Joe Fresh locations (including 540 Granville St, Vancouver; 396 St Clair Ave, Toronto; 10 Lower Jarvis St, Toronto; Heartland Town Centre, Mississauga).

Want to get involved?  Pick up your tee tout-de-suite, then be sure to wear it on 'Fashion Targets Friday' - Friday, May 27th, 2011 and join hundreds of Canadians who will wear their target tee on this day to remind women to "target" their breasts and help raise awareness for the cause.

Plus, there are some fab prizes to be won.  To find out more, visit: www.chatelaine.com/fashiontargets
