A Shore Thing

Looking for something shiny and new this spring?  This beyond pretty copper and glass bracelet from Mango ($49.99) looks just like seaglass and will add a subtle bit of sparkle to any of your warm weather looks. And with the aquatic obsession overtaking the design world right now (more on that next week), this pretty bauble will sea you through from low tide to high.

RLR Obsession: The Hunger Games

The insanely gorge Jennifer Lawrence in the April 2012 issue of Glamour

With today's release of The Hunger Games, Jennifer Lawrence (taking on the lead role of Katniss Everdeen) is set to become a mega, mega-star. Whether you’re catching the movie on the big screen this weekend (eek!) or just want to pay tribute to your favourite, er, Tribute, check out my fave Katniss-esque finds to help you look positively Cinna-sational. (Warning: this gallery contains an inordinate amount of Hunger Games puns.)  And just to clarify -  yes, I am a super geek.

Found: Two Classic Keepers

The Leighton Leather Tote ($185) from Banana Republic and the Wedge Pump ($74.95) from Gap

It's often the simple things that are the hardest to find:  the perfect pair of jeans, a flattering black bather, a great white tee.  Though I often tell people to ignore that annoying practical voice in your head in favour of bright colour and feel-good finds, these two classic keepers will instantly elevate your wardrobe just a little.  The clean lines of this black leather bag will carry you through season after season, regardless of the It-bag du jour, while this classic wedge pump gives you height, elongates your legs and looks exactly like the YSL Wedge Pump for literally 1/10 of the price.  Yay!  I wore the black versions from Gap on my last CityLine appearance and everyone keeps asking me where I got my shoes.  YSL, of course ;)

Time to...

It's officially spring and since our sunny weather actually matches the season, it's time to bust out your pastels.  I've loved this look from 3.1 Phillip Lim ever since it hit the runways - simple, modern, and undeniably pretty.

Happy spring to you, my flowers.  Anyone else craving a big fat scoop of sorbet?
